GUIDE TO IRANIAN WEB RESOURCES

This is a collection of links to home pages which I have found while searching the web which have a distinctly Iranian bias, mainly because they have been produced by Iranians, but also those which are about Iran. I have tried to indicate wherever possible, when I was last able to verify that the link was functioning. The list is neither exclusive nor exhaustive; its primary purpose is to provide a rounded view of the quite extraordinary amount of material which is available on this subject. I am sure that I will have offended some people either through inclusion or exclusion. I can assure you that no offence is intended, if you would like me either to add or remove a link to your site, I will be more than happy to do so. In order to make the list more manageable I have created some simple categories which are given below in alphabetical order, together with some descriptive comments.

Arts and Crafts: Here you will find links to pages dealing with Persian Carpets and other crafts.
Associations and Societies: Links to Iranian Student and Professional Associations.
Books and Literature: There are several publishers specialising in Iranian Books and Books about Iran. This page contains links to those which I have found. There are also links here to Persian works of Literature, mainly in translation.
News and Views: There are an astonishing number of on-line Iranian Magazines and Newspapers, both in English and Farsi. This page contains links to them.
Pictures: Here you can find links to more pictures from Iran.
Background Information: I’ve gathered a set of links here which includes the current constitution as well as background material on economics etc. You will also find links here describing Iran's Internet presence.
Religious Affairs: This provides some links to other sites dealing with Iranian Sufism, Shi’ite Islam and Zoroastrianism.
Science and Technology: This is mainly comprised of links to scientific papers presented by Iranians or about Iran.
Sex and Gender: Here there are links to Iranian Womens’ pages as well as Gender-related issues.
Travel Information: This is the place to start looking if you want to find out more about travelling to Iran.
